The Friedman Film Collection
•••••
The success of Luna Productions is due to many people – friends and funders; colleagues and collaborators – and we are grateful to all of them. But at the very top of the list of those who we are thankful for, are our favorite executive producers in the world … Stan and Mary Friedman.
This web page celebrates them, and commemorates decades of friendship and cinematic-collaboration.
We invite you to view the 4 documentaries we’ve made together – two made for broadcast (both subsequently nominated for Emmy Awards!), and the two short videos made in support of worth non-profit organizations that Stan and Mary (and we!) care a great deal about.

Change is Possible:
A Summer with the CYDL
(Center for Youth Development thru Law)
A short, moving documentary about just how much can happen in one summer, following sixteen at-risk youth, in one helluva great program called the Center for Youth Development through Law, a program that takes at-risk and disadvantaged high school youth and over a summer gives them a very intense law school- like experience, complete with classes, paid internships, and professional/psychological counseling. You see the difference it makes to them, on their faces and in their thoughts, and the result gives just about anyone an increased hope for the future.
Closure and Compassion:
The Berkeley Public Schools Fund
and the 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic
This pro bono short documentary video was produced for the Berkeley Public Schools Fund (BPSF) for their 2020 annual fundraiser event. The in-person fundraiser was cancelled and this video was an alternative, shared via link and on-line zoom event, with the goal of showing supporters and funders the amazing level of support by BPSF for parents, teachers, and students in the local public school system during those oh-so-scary initial months of the COVID pandemic – when the BPSF rose to the challenge of the brutal shock and desperate needs of the first 40 days of public school closure.
