Cathy spent 5 years visiting her in prison before her freedom.

Gary spent 5 years making the documentary that was a crucial part of getting her freedom.

Ernesto, her son, remains our godson, family member for us, and a crucial part of our lives.

She was larger than life.  Had Puerto Rico become the independent island nation she dreamed of, she would be regarded as one of it’s founding tathers/mothers, the George Washington (or at least the Alexander Hamilton) of her so-desired-but-not-realized nation.

Rest in peace, rest in power.
