Elementary school teacher Lila Gray hosts her class’s weekly “Poetry Open Mic” activity – complete with mood lighting, curtains, and an enthusiastic audience of 4th and 5th grade poets. Students read their favorite poems or even perform original pieces. As Ms. Gray says, “It’s an activity that hits standards, builds community, and fits into a small part of your day and it’s definitely more fun than playing video games and getting a lot of lol wins.” Can you dig it?
